FINALLY!!

Most of you that know me, know that my hair is pretty eclectic and is constantly changing. Thanks to my stylist, Cassie Church. Well, it has been over 2 months since I have touched my hair. It has been permed, almost black, almost red and almost styled like Alice Cullen and I think I am ready to go back to normal. The perm got old, the almost black faded to almost gray, and the almost red just plain faded, plus I suck at having bangs.

NOT for lack of talent on my sister's part, but my hair doesn't seem to like those colors and removes them on it's own. Not to mention that I wear a hat or sweat every other day so I am constantly adding to its torture.

The plan today is to return to what I know works, the light brown with blond highlights and I am actually going to try to grow it out for a little while. We'll see how that goes! So, goodbye to my experiments and hello to (hopefully) normal, luscious locks that I can actually style. Hey and if that doesn't work, maybe I'll get extensions! (not permanent ones though, ha ha!)

This is from Easter. My "before" picture. My sister in law Haley looks adorable!

We are working out way back to the blode. When you go "dark" and then want to go back to light you have to use a color stripper to remove the color from the hair. You risk the chance of going "orange" before blonde. BUT, my sis is a pro and it is lighter without being completely damaged and falling out. :-) The sun will help lighten it a little more as well. My next appointment will also get it a little lighter after giving it time to get strong. My hair is pretty soft for all it has been through, and I am thankful my sister is pretty great about making my hair the way I want it. Thanks Case!
A view from top back too.

Hair cuts at Salon 29

Ok, so this picture is a little over a month old, but he looks so darn cute! This was not his first hair cut, the boy has hair like his dad so it's like hair cute number ten. However, it was the first time getting his hair cut at Auntie Cassie's salon, and boy did he love it! Once she put him on the chair with the apron around his neck he was all business. He sat perfectly still and checked himself out in the mirror while she trimmed his hair. Good job big boy!

Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going to vent for a second. We have a condo... right now any way. We pay our mortgage and have a $235.00 HOA fee monthly. Which pays to keep up the grounds around our home, the playground, the trash and the pool. It has increased from $175 to $235 over the course of the last 4 years because of morons that rent a condo and eff up the area or throw furniture into the pool or graffitti on the playground. IT MAKES ME SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY!!!!

Kellen and I walk to the mail box almost daily and then I usually will let him play on the playground before we head home. Today, there were 5 kids with a DOG in there (using extremely foul language) with the door proped open!!! (The key must be used to get in and out). Kellen of course wanted to go in and there was nothing stopping him from walking in. I let him go in and touch the water, and then on our way out I closed the door behind us. I locked them in, so they will either have to find someone with a key to get out, or climb out. Either way, they weren't supposed to be in there and I was so frustrated! The key to the pool gets damaged then those that actually pay their HOA have to pay for it!!! Uhhhhh!!

Bills Bills Bills

Bills suck. The end.

Ok, so I'm sure everyone agrees. I haven't met many people that look forward to a new bill in the mail.

Today Pastor Matt Brown at Sandals Church spoke about the Holy Spirit and His role in the trinity. He said, "Trying to understand all of God is like trying to dump the entire ocean into a Dixie cup, it's not going to happen." This illustration is probably the best way I have ever heard anyone explain it.

We will be spending the next few weeks talking about the Holy Spirit on Sunday's and sadly I seem to know little about him. I understand that when I became a Christian that Jesus lives in me and the Holy Spirit guides me. He is my Counselor, Helper, I am to trust Him to lead me. As long as I can remember I have had a hard time trusting anyone. I can't seem to figure out where it stems from, but I don't. I have looked back at my life and seen some of the bad choices I have made, or investments I have put my effort into and there are several I would like to take back (not my husband and son, they are my JOY, and I would NEVER change anything about the two of them or my life with them). I can also remember a small bit of uneasiness telling me NOT to make those choices in the first place but I didn't listen. It was what I wanted at the time. Then reality sits in, and a hard decision has to be made to change/turn away from the mistakes that have been made. OR, I have to sacrifice something important to pay for what seemed important at the time. All that to say, I don't trust the Holy Spirit and I need to pray that He would help me trust Him. These next few months are going to be tough financially (and I had to add additional stress by raising money for a marathon... yikes!). The only thing that is going to keep me sane is the Holy Spirit, if I will let him. I feel stuck, burdened financially, and it pierces every other part of my life. Sometimes I wish I could compartmentalize like a dude (waffles vs. spaghetti). Then this wouldn't bother me so much. The reality is, it isn't going to go away any time soon, and I need to trust God, period.

So, if you could please pray for me to do just that. Trust that God will take care of me without doubt, without fear. That no matter what happens tomorrow, He is still there.

Cleaning

It's funny to me how sometimes I just get the "urge" to start cleaning. I doubt many are like me... Our office could use a face lift, but so could our wallets. And we can't really do much without mulah, so we have to be VERY creative. SO, I am trying to see what I can take care of without actually buying anything first (wood for shelves, curtains to cover the closet etc.

Any way, random blog about my thoughts. Totally short. Maybe I'll post a before and after picture, well I've already started so an in-the-process photo and an after photo... if it ever happens!
