My First Time at the Beach

We were in San Diego last weekend visiting my dad and we decided to head to Imperial Beach to let Kellen Check out the biggest bath tub on the planet... the Ocean. He's been in the pool plenty of times now, he doesn't even mind an occasional head dunk under water. We are hoping to start teaching him how to swim a little at a time. Any way, back to the beach. So, we took him on the local pier and then let him put his feet in the sand and then walked near the water. His feet got wet and his pant legs were a little drenched.

This picture of his feet is so cute, he was curling his toes into the sand. Maybe one day he can teach me how to surf or something.
He was ready to sit down in the mud and sand but I held on to him because we didn't want to have to take a muddy kid back and clean him up before the birthday party we were attending.

Here he is sitting on the pier with the ocean in the back ground. We turned him around and he just starred at the water for a few minutes.

This one is with my dad (Grandpa). I was glad he got to be part of a first. Even though IB isn't the best beach around, it is pretty sweet that he lives like 5 miles from the ocean. If it wasn't so much more expensive to live down here and Colin could get a job by the beach, I would move in a heart beat. I'm sure just about anybody would. I guess that is why it is so much more expensive. :)
Colin was on the phone with his dad while we were at the beach and he was pushing Kellen around the beach, we had a nice stroll down to the pier. The weather was so much nicer than it is in Murrieta, Temecula and Lake Elsinore, and this weekend in particular it was 75 degrees here while it was over 100 in Elsinore already. Yikes.

All in all not a bad day. Kellen seemed to enjoy himself and we had a great time enjoying the sun without the heat. We are headed back to San Diego for the 4th of July celebration with Grandpa again. I'm sure there will be plenty of new pictures to share after those festivities.

New Photos

Kellen will be 6 months old on Saturday, ALREADY!! I can't believe how fast he is growing! When he turned 2 months old we started the professional photos and figured we would do them occassionally. Elle Bee Photography is our choice. Her name is Lauren and she does great pictures. She loves taking pictures of Kellen, she is located in Murrieta and they always come out so great. I have posted a few from his most recent shoot (yesterday) and his 2 month shoot. Enjoy!Kellen and Winnie the Pooh

6 Years and Counting...

June 14, 2003. It was over 100 degrees that day, and the cheese melted at the reception. It was the day that started the rest of my life. We were married in a little church in Wildomar, CA with 115 or so of our closest friends and family. One of the lowest budgeted weddings I have ever heard of (I made my own wedding scrap book for crying out loud). The day was super hot, but it was the beginning of our life together and we have had so many adventures together thus far. And now with our little pride and joy along side us, our adventures continue.

Today we celebrated with a Hana Sushi lunch and wine tasting at Hart Winery. We have now wine tasted 5 of the 6 years celebrations (minus one year because I was pregnant last year). We may catch up by going again for Colin's birthday or just a weekend some time later this year. We had a nice time celebrating. Our tradition each year is to collect a wine glass from each place that we have tasted. From left to right they are, Callaway, Thorton, Ponte, Palomar and Hart Wineries. In the middle are the champagne bride and groom glasses from our wedding day. I am pretty sure that we had sparkling cider in them. So, with another anniversary passing we celebrate our life together, all our love, all our life, one day at a time.

Happy 25th Anniversary!

OK, so this blog is mainly about Kellen, but occasionally I like to write a little shout out to the family. June, is shout out month because there are birthdays and anniversaries up the wazoo! Next up, Nana & Papa. Happy 25Th Anniversary!! They met when I was real little and married in 1984, December of 1985 they had my little bro and it's all been down hill from there. KIDDING!! They currently reside in Reno, Nevada and get to enjoy much cooler temperatures in the summer than we do here in Southern Cali.

Nana is the lucky lady of 2 grandchildren and the owner of 2 dogs to keep her occupied when she can't see those 2 grand kids.

Papa works as an estimator for a construction company, he's been doing this as long as I have known him (in San Diego, Las Vegas and now Reno). They are really great parents, and grandparents. You should see their house, it is filled with pictures of Kellen and Nolan (my sister's kiddo). Nana is coming down to visit in August for Kellen's first over-nighter away from mom and dad. It is still over 2 months away and I am already trying to prep myself!

So, there they are. My most recent pictures of them with Kellen, enjoying their grandson and now celebrating 25 years together. Happy Anniversary Nana & Papa (mom & dad), we love you!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Haley!

Yesterday we went over to Colin's moms house and celebrated his sister Haley's 20th birthday. We had a nice dinner with all her favorites, and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Her friend Melissa came with her husband Scott, and their 2 month old Aaron. Colin's brother Tymon and his fiance Brittani were also in attendance, and of course, Colin's mom Shelley. It was a nice evening. Kellen decided he didn't want to take his late afternoon nap, so he was awake for most of the festivities.

Aunt Haley, we hope you had a great birthday celebration and we love you!
